Avenue Primary: Shape Poems

Shapes

I was running and I felt like my heart was dead
I jumped and felt like I’d turned in to a bird
I rolled over and I went to check my score.
I won.

I started the race and then I was near to jump
Then….
I was in the sky and I was thinking that I was in the sky forever
Then I landed
I rolled in the sand and rolled and rolled
And people shouted
Hey! Hey!
I won!
Loreeza

I was running very fast
Off I went
I was flying in the sky like superman
When I came down I nearly lost my balance but I still landed in
The sand pit like a stone.

I was scared and nervous but thought I’ll make it
Bending my back over the bar quickly going down
I landed on the mat with a bang!
Kenan

I was running and I’m heading to the top
The crowds are cheering
I’m still running and thought I was flying like a bird
I was heading down my heart was beating so fast.
I was there
I was so happy.

Footprint Poems

My legs and hands were thumping
I was really excited.
I was second in the race.
I can see the finish line
My head goes in first.
I win by the closest margin.
Whoo-hoo.

I’m feeling nervous and the crowd is screaming.
The gun goes off and the race begins.
I Start off slow and steady
Then I started to go fast.

There I was at the starting line.
My heart was beating like a bass drum.
The gunman shot the gun in the air, bang!
Whoosh, swoosh
My face was hitting the wind
My hand was trembling like jelly.
The crowds were cheering my name.
I was last.

I run ahead wearing my lucky socks that are red
My heart is beating fast
Hoping that I am not last
I’m nearly there
I can see it in my sight
I’m running with all my might.
There’s the finish line
Hoorah! Hooray!
I win.
Anita Panna

At the starting line
Feeling nervous but fine
I can hear the crowd calling my name for the running game
Bang! The race has begun
And I start to run.
Anisha Panna

I started catching up and I passed the person in front of me.
When I passed them I knew I was going to win.
I saw the finishing line
And I made it.
I won!

We had to get ready and go to the starting line
My heart was thumping like a drum and I felt nervous.
I was shaking like a rattle snake.
The gun shot went bang and we started.
I ran as fast as I could.

Other Poems

Devil’s Barbeque
I am going to have a barbeque
And this is what I’ll cook for you:
Hot dogs with raw dog leg
Delicious cake with frog’s legs
Yummy slimy snake steak
And horse’s tongues freshly baked.

I’m going to have a barbeque and this is what I’ll cook for you:
I wonder if you like rats because I do.
I also love slimy snakes too.
We’ll have some socks with monkey poo.
After we’ll have a pig’s nose
With a lovely rotten tomato stew.

I’m going to have a barbeque and this is what I’ll cook for you:
Juicy mouth-watering dishes from the galaxy
And something from the sea.
Horses tongues and cows dung
Frogs legs and clothes pegs
Chicken feet with octopus meat.
It’s going to be the bee’s knees.

Row, row row very slow
Javlin away we go.

Ping pong ding dong
I smashed the ball like old king Kong.

A farmer’s hen saw big Ben in the night at half past ten.

Denis played soggy tennis under water in the city of Venice.

Roll and roll
Let the water go
Splish splash let the water flow.
Make sure there isn’t any hole
Iaz found the bee
Give me with one of the magic peas and we will find the golden key.

Pull and push
Blair and Bush
Pull and push
They don’t shush.

1, 2, 3
Bumble bee
Lovely tree
Wee, wee, wee.
Tasnim Afsana

Row, row, go below,
Blanket but no pills
Push and shove
And pull a dove
Michael Jackson wears a glove.
Tasnim A and Fatiha

Roll and roll
Let the water go

Splish splash let the water flow
Make sure there isn’t a hole
1, 2, 3 I found the bee
Give me one of the magic keys.
Look at me I am free
Oh no I bumbled into a tree
I broke my head so
I went to bed.
